MY NAME IS LIAM. I’m a South Africa-born, Northern California-raised, and Southern California-based Cinematographer. I’m also a full-time Film and Television Production and Environmental Studies student at the University of Southern California.

HELLO,

MY EXPERIENCE spans multiple disciplines and genres. I began as a broadcast television camera operator and producer as well as a freelance videographer filming musical performances, events, music videos, and whatever else was needed. As I entered film school I realized my passion lay specifically in cinematography and I have since shifted to short films, music videos, documentaries, and commercials. I find heavy inspiration in classical painting, journalistic photography, dramatic cinema of the 1990’s, and other realistic art movements. My work has screened at the LA Shorts International Film Festival, Block Island Film Festival, The Houston Internation Film Festival, Indie SHort Fest, and more.

WHEN I’M NOT ON SET I like to keep busy with my other interests which certainly make their way into my filmmaking methodology. I’m immensely passionate about music and guitar in particular. I’ve also been around sailboats most of my life which culminated in a collegiate sailing season. Another fun fact is that I’m a certified EMT. I have a nonspecific but strong love for the outdoors and natural sciences and can, most importantly, ride a unicycle. I particularly love attaching myself to projects that are framed within these additional interests.
